Vocational and Psychological Services is seeking qualified Behavior Intervention Specialists for full-time positions supporting the S.C.O.R.E. (Strengthening Concepts and Opportunities with Re-Education) programs in Sharon and Farrell School Districts.
This role requires an experienced mental health worker with strong clinical and documentation skills as well as the ability to function as a member of our team.
- 12-month salaried position (School calendar, 8-3 M-F)

Educational AND prior work experience must be met for consideration
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years verifiable prior work experience in a CASSP (Child and Adolescent Service System Program) or mental health agency.
- ACT 33/34, Act 168, PA State and FBI clearances required
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A. Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice)B. Consideration MAY BE extended to experienced candidates with Associates degree or 60 credits towards a bachelor’s degreein a human services field.RESPONSIBILITIES AS A BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SPECIALIST 1/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN:
- Attend supervision as required
- Provide one-on-one intervention to a child or adolescent in the school setting
- Prepare for and facilitate bookend psycho-educational social skills groups
- Implement goals and objectives from the Individual Treatment Plan
- Support school efforts to stabilize child or adolescent
- Promote age-appropriate behavior
- Collaborate with members of the treatment
- Consult with Master’s level clinicians
- Support child or adolescent in achieving goals and objectives outlined in Individual Treatment Plan
- Foster the client’s positive relationship with the school
- Reinforce rules and responsibilities with the child
- Help improve social interactions with both peers and adults
- Assist in de-escalation when experiencing elevated emotions
- Provide interventions which may include, but are not limited to: Behavior modification, positive reinforcement, prompting, redirection, token economy, modeling, role-play, social skills, crisis intervention and management techniques, emotional support, problem solving strategies, behavioral reinforcements, delayed gratification, additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities described in treatment plan
