Summary
The incumbent in this position applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepares financial reports in accordance with Voith reporting to drive the decision-making process with management. The incumbent performs functional budget analysis; KPI’s; dashboards; overhead analysis; cost center budget planning and is in regular contact with the VHNA Controlling team and operational managers.
Responsibilities
- Manage key aspects of the month-end closing process
- Prepare monthly financial reporting in MIS and review with Sr. Manager of Controlling
- Manage capital investment approval process and all related reporting
- Develop and distribute a variety of periodic reports, such as Orders Received, OPEX, and financial performance for various functions
- Responsible for manufacturing and VHEC controlling, including related budgeting, reporting, KPIs, monitoring, and developing hourly rates
- Manage project controlling for VHEC projects
- Manage inventory valuation, fiscal year-end count, and adjustments in SAP as needed
- Setup cost center budgets and hourly rates in SAP
- Support the Sr. Manager of Controlling with financial planning and related reporting
- Conduct financial analysis to support management decision making and raise early flags for any potential risks as well as opportunities
- Prepare various journal entries on a monthly basis
- Approximately 20% of this role will be supporting Voith Hydro Canada with various related controlling topics
- Support the fiscal year-end audit as needed
- Manage special responsibilities assigned, e.g., reporting or operational function control
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. An advanced degree would be a plus.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of Accounting/Finance experience with a good basis of Accounting/Financial reporting
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards (US GAAP & IFRS)
- Previous experience in project-business or manufacturing environment would be preferred
- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as maintain individual work load and manage deadlines
- MS Office and ERP systems (SAP will be a plus)
