We are currently searching for an experienced Structural Engineer to support our Carolinas Region located in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Projects may include design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings and cost estimating
- Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs
- Prepare or check structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly steel and concrete
- Prepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawings
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 - 10 years of engineering experience in bridge design
- Recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design
- PE or EI Certification
- Familiarity with bridge design and analysis software such as Open Bridge and/or Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR,other bridge analysis software
- Experience with preparing drawings in Open Bridge, Microstation, and/or AutoCAD
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
