POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Relationship Manager

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Managing Attorney

FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Relationship Manager is responsible for key aspects of client acquisition, and they serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients. They use consultation expertise and business development skills to deliver a warm, informative experience to existing clients and prospective clients that showcases Volpe Law’s value. The Relationship Manager also attends networking events and develops relationships within the community to build a robust referral network across various industries and actively promote the firm.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary is $56,496.00/year, paid semi-monthly, for full-time performance of all duties and responsibilities of this Role. P/T roles convert to hourly.

The Client Services portion of this role, defined below, is subject to an additional structured bonus program. The Firm may provide discretionary bonuses at the Firm’s sole discretion. Benefits package eligible.

This is not a passive, check-the-box type job. This job requires ambition, drive, creativity, discretion, consistency, and diligence in relationships.

  • If you are someone who does the bare minimum in this role, you will receive your salary, no bonus, and will not grow.
  • If you are diligent and engaging, with an open mindset for growth, you should be capable of bringing in enough bonus payments to achieve between $70,000-$90,000/year.
  • If you are exceptional—a real go-getter who plays all in, doesn’t clock watch, and who understands the snowball effect of your effort and follow-up—you should be capable of $90,000-$100,000/year or more!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Networking and Firm Promotion (30%)

  • Drive business development by actively networking, building and managing a pipeline of referral partners, facilitating strategic introductions, and creating opportunities to promote the firm and generate new client leads.

Client Services (30%)

  • Own the client journey from first contact with Intake through post-case follow-up — ensuring every prospective, new, current, and former client receives proactive communication, seamless onboarding, thoughtful check-ins, surveys, and ongoing relationship touches, while tracking key sales and client experience metrics for firm leadership.

Prospective Client Sales (30%)

  • Manage the full sales process — from conducting discovery calls and closing new clients to handling fee agreements, initial retainer payments, follow-ups, and tracking key sales metrics for firm leadership.

  • Occasionally standing, walking, reaching, and stooping;
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs.; and
  • Exposure to low to moderate noise level

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Two years of experience in sales required;
  • Two years of experience working in a law firm preferred.

  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients and professional contacts;
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to articulate service offerings;

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines; and
  • Team player.

EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS

  • High proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint;
  • Working competence and ability to understand Case Management and CRM applications; and
  • Working knowledge of all standard office equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $56,496.00 - $110,000.00 per year
