Barback

Position Overview:

The Barback at Voltaire, an upscale nightlife venue within The Venetian Casino, is entrusted with the key responsibility of supporting the Bartender team and enhancing the guest experience through exceptional beverage service to both patrons and coworkers. The Barback will keep the bar areas fully stocked with appropriate glassware, liquors and mixers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete all assigned opening and closing duties
• Efficiently prep bar areas with all items needed
• Elevate the guest experience by providing exceptional service, proactively identifying guest service opportunities, and exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills with a warm and professional demeanor.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, bustling, and occasionally high-pressure environment.
• Interact in a courteous manner towards all guests, managers, and co-workers.
• Execute service guidelines meticulously, paying extreme attention to detail.
• Take out trash or recycling whenever necessary, and wash hands afterwards.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all service areas following the SNHD Guidelines
• Complete running side work throughout the evening as assigned.
• Assist Bartenders in beverage service.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensuring the bar is consistently well-stocked,
• Notify management to any pertinent information related to the shift in real time.
• Follow all responsible alcohol practices.
• Adhere to safe work practices, promoting a hazard-free environment and preventing self-injury and unsafe work methods.
• Be willing to engage in choreographed movement in the space.
• All other duties assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.[JC1]
• Possession of a Health card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, and any other required certifications or licenses.
• Two (2) years of experience in a high-volume setting.
• In-depth knowledge of beverages, including high-end wines/champagnes, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
• Superior customer service skills with confidence in a guest-facing role.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Navigate all areas of the property and move any furniture if needed.
• Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Stand, walk, stretch, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Work indoors, exposed to various environmental factors like noise and smoke.
