Volumetric Technologies is a growing manufacturer of custom filling equipment. We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder/ Field Service Technician to join our team in Red Wing, MN. This position will be a part of the assembly team and work on assembly on new automation equipment. In this position you will also be responsible for field service visits to customers that would include installation, training, and machine repair. Responsibilities:

• Works under minimal direction to assemble, debug, and test various types of industrial filling equipment.
• Assemble, disassemble, test and troubleshoot Electrical/Pneumatic/Mechanical industrial filling automation systems.
• Read and analyze blueprints, 3D models, and schematics to assemble mechanical aspects of the machine
• Perform basic wiring of low voltage sensors and electric motors.
• Provide technical engineering support to the Service and Sales teams.
• Perform on-site service, installation, and training on new and existing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will possess excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• The ability to use typical tools of the trade
• 2 years experience building equipment involving assembly and debug of pneumatic components.
• Experience and/or certified training in Automation Technology, Automated Machinery Systems plus one-year relevant experience or 2 years experience within the packaging industry desired.
• Candidates must have strong math aptitude and good computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and machine drawings.
• Must show great attention to detail and initiative, with strong ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, especially while at a customer's facility. Must be customer focused and committed to excellence.
• You may be requested to represent the company by traveling as needed to install new equipment in the customer's facility or service equipment already in service.
• Ability to professionally interface with a wide range of customers
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

General office/shop machine tool noise. Ability to lift 30 lbs. Normal working position is sitting, standing, and walking throughout the office and the plant. Reaching with hands and arms. Ability to work in refrigerated and food production facilities.

Overnight travel is required 10%-30% per month.

Compensation:
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience bonus for overnight travel/service visits
