POSITION TITLE: Quality Manager

LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 7900 National Service Road, Greensboro NC 27409
POSITION DUTIES: The Quality Manager responsibility spans across all product projects (complete project portfolio). More than 50% of the time is spent working with strategical topics like process standardization, global alignment, Resource Planning, Organizational Process Assets updates along with representing Quality function in the decision board meetings. Specific responsibilities include the following:
REQUIRMENTS: Qualified applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of Quality Engineering experience or BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and four years of Quality Engineering experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in and excellent understanding of Quality Assurance Plan and Quality Control Plan along with AIAG Core tools (FMEA, Statistical Process Control, MSA). Experience in Nonconformance management, Issue Management and Problem. Excellent understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies. Proficiency in Statistical Software Tools (Minitab/JMP), Office 365 (Word, Excel) and Microsoft tools (MS Project, Power BI) is required. Occasional travel to Volvo manufacturing sites within the United States

- Develop processes, tools, methods, and ways of working along with Global Quality and Engineering counterparts.-15%
- Represent Quality in Conventional Range Decision Meeting for complete Project Portfolio and escalate any issues related Project, Process or Product Quality.-15%
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders (Engineering, Purchasing, Aftermarkets) with objective to standardize the processes related to Project Quality Management.-10%
- Serve as escalation point for all process and product quality related topics across all product projects.-5%
- Monitor Resource Hours for complete project portfolio and ensure resource management targets are achieved.-15%
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Quality Engineering related tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies, Problem Solving, etc.-5%
- Coach, Mentor, and develop Project Quality Engineers along with other project team members in North America on Quality Engineering related topics.-10%
- Represent Volvo Group Trucks Operations North America in Global Quality Networks and contribute in various standard creation and implementation initiatives.-10%
- Ensure Quality Management System is maintained, and Organizational Process Assets (OPA) are updated based on learnings.-5%
- Promote Continuous Improvement culture within the organization.-5%
- Take Corrective and Preventive Actions when required to achieve business objectives.-1%
- Be the interface with the manufacturing plants.-1%
- Negotiate and cooperate with several stakeholders in the Volvo Group-1%
