Title: Elementary Teacher Assistant 

Status: Part-Time

Reports to: Elementary School Principal

We are currently seeking a part time Teacher Assistant to join our Elementary School Team. 

Job Description:

The elementary teacher assistant is considered support staff under the general supervision of the classroom teacher. The Teacher Assistant will perform a variety of technical and clerical tasks in assisting a teacher of general education students in grades K-3. The Teacher Assistant may assist with car line duties and may perform a wide range of tasks in order to support the efforts of the teacher, meet the needs of all students, and ensure the provision of quality instruction for all students.  Teacher Assistants may provide one-on-one assistance with academics and behavioral concerns, and may lead small group activities. The Teacher Assistant may support the teacher with general housekeeping and clerical duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employment hours are 7:15-3:15 on assigned days of the week (employees will receive a daily lunch break within their designated schedule). Teacher Assistants work 4 days per week.

• Participates in daily and long range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning activities will small groups of students.
• Guides students in working and playing harmoniously with other students.
• Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual students.
• Provides escort and assistance to students as needed.
• Helps maintain individual records for students.
• Fosters good eating habits and table manners for students.
• Assists teachers in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assists with the supervision of students.
• Assists with car line responsibilities.
• Provide one-on-one assistance with academics and behavioral concerns.
• Collects and displays suitable materials for educational displays.
• Supervises students during lunch times.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Teacher/Principal may from time to time assign.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High school diploma
