The responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant Coach at Vermont State University include coordination of student athletics; supervision of practice and contest; recruitment of student athletes for Vermont State University; coordination of travel and meals; initiation of eligibility procedures; handling of sports information; and performance of other appropriate duties as may be assigned. In this position you report to the Head Coach of your assigned sport.
A Vermont State Graduate Assistant Coach is a representative of the University, and as such you are expected to conduct yourself in a way that embodies the principles of good sportsmanship and reflects well on the institution. You also are expected to ensure that the student athletes entrusted to you behave in like manner. It is understood that a graduate assistant coach position may be terminated if a graduate assistant coach is found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations.
It is expected that each graduate student maintains a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and shows satisfactory progress toward a degree with completion in two years.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Graduate Assistants may be eligible for tuition remission and housing on campus. Graduate students must be enrolled in graduate level courses and are eligible for tuition remission for up to 9 credits per semester or 18 total credits per academic year. Any course-specific fees are the responsibility of the Graduate Assistant.
