Senior Accessibility Test Engineer
Client: Apple
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (hybrid onsite)
Length: 12 months with possible extensions
Accessibility Developer at Level Access May 2012 – February 2019
I provided accessible prototypes as well as technical guidance to help clients comply with regulations, such as Section 508, the ADA, Section 1557 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. Additionally,
“NOTE: If selected for this position, you are required to perform ALL work within a commutable distance of your assigned Worksite Location. Three days a week onsite, Tues, Wed, Thurs, with Monday and Friday being remote”
Mandatory skills:
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript: 3 years is required
- Accessibility: 3 years is required
- ARIA Accessibility: 3 years is required
- Accessibility (Keyboard/VoiceOver): 3 year is required
- Accessibility Testing: 3 year is required
Required Skills:
o Proven experience in web accessibility consulting, with a deep understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standards.
o Proficiency in accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers such as VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA).
o Strong technical knowledge of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), with experience addressing accessibility issues in modern frameworks like React or Vue.js.
o Familiarity with automated accessibility testing and integrating accessibility into development pipelines (e.g., with CI/CD).
o Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate accessibility requirements into technical solutions.
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and advocating for accessibility initiatives.
Nice to Have:
- Certifications in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA).
o Experience working in large-scale or enterprise-level environments with a focus on product accessibility.
o Familiarity with mobile accessibility (iOS and Android) and our Human Interface Guidelines.
o Experience in providing accessibility training and mentoring for developers and designers is a plus.
