Job description
Leverage your office administration skills and gain valuable experience in transportation at Summit Logistics. Administrative professionals will appreciate the challenges of our dynamic office, with primary responsibilities collaborating with customers, providing accurate data and freight estimation, and helping move unique products across the country or across borders.
A successful Brokerage Administrator will be able to work independently, setting priorities and supporting department objectives without direct oversight. Dependability and organization are non-negotiable.
The position requires an estimated 24 hours per week (part-time) - Monday, Thursday and Friday (8-4, 8-4, 8-5).
Primary functions:
- Manage customer communication by phone and email.
- Enter bills of lading into the transportation management system.
- Retrieve and update data within the document management platform.
- Negotiate freight rates (considering market conditions, urgency, and load specifications)
Qualified applicants will have prior experience with customer service and data management in an office setting. Previous exposure to the transportation industry is of great benefit. They must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, comfortable with the computer and office technology, and able to learn company-specific software. Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong arithmetic skills will be essential to success in the role.
Starting pay $16 - $18
