Job Title : Medical Coding Analyst
Contract Duration : 7 Months
Location : Detroit, MI (Hybrid – Onsite once a week) (Wednesday)
Pay Rate : $34 / hr
What You'll Do :
Review and research new code changes (AMA, CMS) for system implementation.
Analyze coding updates for PPO and HMO Commercial Business.
Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure accuracy in coding policies.
Investigate and organize data for coding compliance and policy decisions.
Qualifications :
Required : RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification.
Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS.
Experience with claims systems and benefit structures (PPO / HMO) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
Preferred :
Experience with NASCO, MOS, or BCU systems.
Prior payor experience and knowledge of BCBSM / BCN benefits & claims.
Specialty certifications (CCS, CCS-P) are a plus.
