What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Clerk - PRN position at Wabash General Hospital?
The patient access clerk registers patients to the hospital: inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients. The Patient Access clerk establishes patient accounts, gathers billing information, insurance cards where applicable, and guarantor information. Obtains appropriate signatures on the face sheet and admission papers. Directs patients to the appropriate department for services. Immediately notifies nursing supervisor or emergency room personnel of a potential critical patient. Scans required patient information into the system. Runs insurance verification report and registration quality report on daily basis. Requirements:
- One year of general office experience and/or equivalent education preferred.
