Our planes are carefully and skillfully built by hand. Centennial Aircraft Service is a Part 145 Repair Station and does everything from restoring vintage aircraft to providing new avionics and engines to current aircraft. Junkers Aircraft is our newest company that encompasses our lightest and sleekest model LSA airplane made from corrugated aluminum, known as the A50, complete with a ballistic parachute.

As the Aircraft Paint Lead, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the preparation, painting, and finishing of aircraft surfaces to ensure they meet stringent quality and safety standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining structural integrity, aesthetic appearance, and regulatory compliance of aircraft through effective management and guidance of the painting team. What You Will Do
As the Aircraft Paint Lead, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the preparation, painting, and finishing of aircraft surfaces to ensure they meet stringent quality and safety standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining structural integrity, aesthetic appearance, and regulatory compliance of aircraft through effective management and guidance of the painting team. Responsibilities will vary from day to day, and position reports directly to the Production Manager. Onsite position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and direction to the aircraft painting team, including assigning tasks, scheduling work, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Supervise the preparation of aircraft surfaces for painting, ensuring proper cleaning, sanding, masking, and primer application.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify surface imperfections and coordinate corrective actions.
- Oversee the application of aircraft paint and protective coatings, ensuring proper techniques and equipment usage.
- Ensure consistent and uniform paint application to achieve the desired color, texture, and finish.
- Implement and enforce prescribed painting processes and procedures to meet industry standards and specifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces to verify adherence to quality and aesthetic standards.
- Identify and address any paint defects, such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage, through appropriate corrective measures.
- Verify color matching and ensure compliance with aircraft specifications and regulations.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with aviation regulations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, including paint and solvents, in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of painting equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ventilation systems.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs for timely repair and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all paint and coating applications, including type, quantity, and processes used.
- Complete all required documentation to ensure traceability, accountability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements and best practices for aircraft painting operations.
- Provide training and guidance to painting team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
- All other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in aircraft or automotive painting or related field is preferred.
- 2 years proven experience in painting in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.
- Familiarity with aviation regulations, safety practices, and quality standards applicable to aircraft painting operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality paint finishes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and schedules
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
