Assistant Manager - Animal Boarding

Description:

Our managers are responsible for the supervision of our day-to-day operations and staff duty assignments within each area of specialty (either Daycare or Boarding). They are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and monitoring animal health to ensure the safety and well-being of each guest in our care and handle any health or behavioral issues that may arise. Additionally, they are responsible for monitoring staff training and performance to ensure proper procedures are followed.

The Assistant Manager position requires full, open availability (including weekends and holidays). Shift times, 8 hours, vary between 6 AM-10 PM.

The Ideal Assistant Manager Candidate:

• Previous experience managing people (greater than 1.5 years)
• Positive attitude
• Enjoys working as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent people and customer service skills
• Passion for hospitality and pets
• Ability to have a flexible schedule
• Proven leadership and motivational skills
• Previous industry experience and/or strong desire to enter the pet care industry
• College degree preferred
• Ability to be on feet for long periods and natural comfort level around all breeds of dogs and cats
• Background check and drug test required

Assistant Manager Responsibilities may include:

• Assuring procedural compliance with staff members
• Interviewing and hiring of new staff members
• Overseeing completion of time sensitive operations, such as cleaning, feeding, medications, daily health checks, and overall care of our boarding guests
• Working with other department managers to provide the highest level of pet care
• Coaching, motivating, and training employees
• Scheduling PT & FT staff members
• Communicating with customers in a positive, professional way

Assistant Manager Requirements:

• Ability to move 40 pounds
• Ability to act with a professional, positive demeanor at all times
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for pet care provided by Wagsworth Manor Pet Resort
• Ability to work independently with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
• Ability to work holidays and weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
