FUNCTION: Create a professional and pleasant atmosphere for customers; ensure smooth operation of register procedures, policies, and paperwork.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Must have complete understanding of register procedures, selling floor procedures, policies, and paperwork.

2. Ability to accurately handle transaction and counting back of change.

3. Answers the telephone promptly with a smile; connects callers with the proper department or ensures that a message is taken.

4. Ensures friendly customer service with a smile.

5. Handles all register procedures in a courteous and friendly manner.

6. Checks packages brought into the store.

7.  Understands and carries out all company policies and selling floor procedures. 

8.  Aids the Area Merchandiser (AM) or Assistant Area Merchandisers (AMA) in the proper presentation of merchandise; including but not limited to: ticketing, signing, sizing, and display.     

9. Participates in the training of new sales associates, as delegated by the AM or Manager.

10. Alert management of ways to prevent shoplifting and internal shrinkage. 

11.  Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision in a timely manner.   

12. Follows area assignments to ensure an efficient, smooth running department with a high morale

**This is an hourly position.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION:  High School Degree

TRAITS: Pleasant, congenial, accurate, efficient, flexible and trustworthy. Pleasant telephone etiquette; good mathematical skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: The physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job:  Required to stand, walk, talk or hear, use hands and have ability to reach overhead. Regular lifting or moving of up to 5lbs, possible up to 25lbs. Requires bending, stooping, and ability to climb stairs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus and ability to write, count, and read required shipping/ company paperwork.
