As an Operations Supervisor, a key member of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen operations team, you will support the General Manager in our high-productivity Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee operations at Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s Vehicle Processing Center. Lead continuous process improvements to achieve a safe and cost -efficient work environment that meets performance targets.
- Responsible for promoting and helping develop a culture of a safe work environment for all employees and visitors through compliance with the WWS Health & Safety.
- Within your area of responsibility, investigate any accidents, incidents and/or near misses, to ensure actions are be taken to prevent future incidents. Lessons learned are documented and shared and all reporting is completed timely and accurately.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of current practices.
- Coordinate with leads to ensure organization of daily work for the crew.
- Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee involvement.
- Perform corrective actions if needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 3 or more years supervisory experience in manufacturing or logistics
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
- Solid understanding of revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results
- Experience leading continuous process improvements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software applications
- 1-2 years’ experience in an automotive or warehousing environment
- A passion to develop, motivate, and coach employees for their professional development, and future growth of the company
- Inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels
- You’re a collaborative leader with a background in operations
