What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant/Grooming Assistant position at Wallylama Kennel?
We are a privately owned kennel located in Sharpsburg, GA, and we are currently looking for help approximately 2 days a week (typically Tuesday and Thursday), and weekends as needed. Hours would be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break at noon. Starting pay is $12/hour with the possibility of earning more as you progress in the job.
Duties include:
-Feeding animals
-Waste management
-Keeping the kennel clean and disinfected
-Bathing, grooming, nail trimming (will train)
-Dog training (potty training, show training, etc.)
-Exercising dogs inside and outside
-Supervise play and manage dogs
-Assist in administration of vaccines and medications
-Assist kennel manager at dog shows
-Transporting animal to the vet
Our ideal candidate would have
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Excellent time management
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to stand for up to 5 hours at a time, run with dogs, and lift up to 45 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends (as needed)
- Has own form of transportation, and is willing to transport pets in it
