Job Summary:
The Produce Clerk, under the direction of the Produce Manager and Assistant Produce Manager, ensures the department is well-stocked and clean at all times and assists with various departmental tasks. When on the sales floor, the Produce Clerk provides excellent service to our customers by greeting them and eagerly answering their questions.
**The below description describes the key job responsibilities of a level 1 Produce Clerk. If you are 18 years of age or older and/or have experience working in a Produce Department or similar, you may be tasked with additional/higher level responsibilities**
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Ensure the department is well-stocked, fronted, and fresh at all times.
* Accurately stock newly received and back stock produce for the sales floor.
* Energetically greet and interact with customers, assisting with purchases, suggesting products to try, and answering questions.
* Assist in maintaining a clean department. Some of these tasks include sweeping, mopping, dishes, trash, etc.
* Become proficient in departmental closing procedures, including cleaning the back room and pulling produce from the sales floor.
* Consult with the Produce Manager or Assistant Produce Manager daily to come up with a shift plan or task list.
* If assigned, the Produce Clerk may be responsible for popcorn production and packaging.
* Take special orders, on the phone and in person, for produce trays and other offerings.
* Communicate and record shrink, as directed by the Produce Manager.
* Stock the salad bar, properly rotating and dating product.
* Properly wrap, package, weigh, and label various products.
* Fill and maintain sample stations throughout the department.
* Maintain general product knowledge for department.
* Assist in unloading and putting away produce shipments.
* This position will primarily be focused on cutting produce for pre-cut containers and trays.
Schedule:
This position requires morning/daytime shifts. 15-25 hours per week.

Requirements
* Must be at least 16 years of age
* Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching
* Frequent instances of pushing, pulling, and squatting
* Ability to move product by pushing/pulling carts, using manual pallet jacks, etc.
* Must be able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds
* Must have morning, weekend, and holiday availability
