JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Client Finance, the Client Finance Manager will provide support to the Accounting and Finance department, and act as a liaison with Account Management and Department Heads to understand client budgets, scopes of work, and analyze variances between hours worked or dollars spent against budgets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Revenue recognition.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to assist in financial business decisions and ensure all financial aspects of each client are properly managed.
- Forecast company revenue/billings, review scopes of work, and price staff plans.
- Maintain overall integrity of the financial and management reporting process and ensure compliance with all internal and client requirements.
- Prove finance support to project accountants and monitor client budgets.
- Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure timely billing and cash flow for the agency.
- Ensure monthly review of OOP, Production, and Receivables spend vs. budgets.
- Oversee the collection of past-due accounts; ensure adherence to contract billing policies; provide summaries of monthly billing and reconciliations.
- Track and report actual labor hours - actuals vs. budgets vs. targets.
- Profitability reporting, i.e., client/job profitability.
- Assist in month-end close.
- Provide support to Senior Management as necessary.
- Support various audit compliance efforts (internal and external).
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Experience in marketing, advertising, PR, or professional services firm.
- Self-starter, able to work independently in a cross functional environment.
- Ability to frame questions and the analyses needed to answer them.
- Ability to link the big picture to details with ease, use data to drive decision-making processes with leadership.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must posses strong presentation skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must have strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering results in a timely manner.
- Deltek Maconomy financial system experience a plus.
- Willingness to be part of a team and leader when necessary.
- Ability to project manage work to meet all deadlines.
- High level attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Strong analytic, problem solving, and judgment skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)
