Cafe Team Lead

Reports to: Cafe Manager

Overview:

The Cafe Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Cafe Manager in supervising daily cafe operations, maintaining service quality, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires excellent customer service and teamwork skills to create a welcoming, high-energy environment for all customers at Wantable Cafe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Experience: Provide excellent service to all guests, ensuring a warm, welcoming environment. Resolve customer issues and inquiries in a friendly and professional manner
• Team Support: Assist in training new team members and guide them on service standards, operational procedures, and health/safety protocols
• Operations Support: Help with inventory tracking, ordering, and organization to ensure the cafe is well-stocked and efficient
• Health & Safety: Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene standards, monitoring compliance and supporting safe food handling practices
• Financial Contribution: Support the Cafe Manager in achieving revenue goals through efficient service, waste control, and customer retention strategies
  
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in hospitality a plus
• 1 years of experience in a cafe or customer service setting
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Customer-service orientation with a focus on quality
• Must have availability between the hours of 7AM to 10PM, Sunday through Saturday
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Willingness to obtain and/or maintain ServSafe certification
• Willingness to obtain and/or maintain a City of Milwaukee bartender's license
• Physical Demands:
• Occasionally required to move furniture, stand for long periods, and be onsite during events
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
