What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Sheriff position at Wapello County Sheriff's Office?

The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full-time positions for Deputy Sheriff. All minimum ILEA hiring standards apply. The hiring process will include an oral interview, MMPI testing and thorough background check. Non-ILEA certified applicants, being considered for these positions, will be required to pass the POST test and Physical Fitness testing. ILEA Certified Officers with a break in employment as a Law Enforcement Officer for a 180 Days or longer will be required to pass the ILEA Physical Fitness Standards. Out-of-state certified applicants will be required pass the ILEA Physical Fitness Standards and to get ILEA certification through examination in Iowa.

Certified Officers pay and vacation will be determined on years of service.

For those officers not ILEA certified, Sheriff’s Office will contact you to schedule physical testing and P.O.S.T. testing.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
