Job Summary
The Veteran Service Officer plays a crucial role in supporting veterans and their families by providing guidance and assistance in accessing various services and benefits. Duties
- Assist veterans in understanding and applying for benefits available through federal, state, and local programs.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of veterans and their families, providing tailored support and resources.
- Facilitate access to behavioral health services, addiction counseling, and crisis management resources.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance service delivery for veterans.
- Provide information on housing options, including Section 8 assistance and other housing programs.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions with Veterans.
- Stay informed about changes in policies or programs that affect Veteran services.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of workforce development initiatives and resources available for veterans.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Veteran-specific programs and benefits is a plus.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
