Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee daily operational activities. This includes managing multiple departments within the operations teams for maximum productivity. The Warehouse Operations Manager will be able to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the operations team. The Warehouse Operations Manager will be able to increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity. The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee safety standards to ensure that products are dispatched and delivered safely and efficiently. The Warehouse Operations Manager is also responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control, and completion of the projects while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of Warehouse of Fixtures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career     development plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
  • Quality control, resolution, and prevention as this position is the first stop before it gets back to Sales and Design.
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Responsible for all department managers, leads or supervisors.
  • Monitor daily operations and address potential issues when they arise.
  • Oversee materials and inventory.
  • Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
  • Oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement or revision.
  • Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides strategic solutions.
  • Manages day to day business of the operations department while balancing the responsibilities of various business lines such as business analysis, vendor, and risk management.
  • Establish production KPIs and conduct quality assessments.
  • Build processes that meet our business objectives and ensure compliance.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
  • Creating and implementing a trailer plan to unload, organize, clean, and prep, used inventory.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate the inventory financial needs of the organization, developing budget strategies to increase the company’s profitability.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Inspects physical condition inventories when used furniture is unloaded.
  • Organizing / overseeing decommission processes including on-sight visits to inspect product.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of inventory activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, accounting and purchasing.
  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Follows all OSHA requirements.
  • Preparing schedules for Warehouse Associates, training new employees on how to use machinery and monitoring compliance with safety standards.
  • Managing the warehouse in line with the company’s standards. 
  • Complying with the company’s policies and vision. 
  • Using the warehouse space to achieve peak efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Supervisory Responsibilities

Assists in supervision of employees in the Warehouse and the operations team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution

Managing People - Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; makes self-available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external); fosters quality focus in others; improves processes, products, and services.; continually works to improve supervisory skills.

Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; develops realistic action plans. Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

 Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift certification and Class E license
