Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Production Sewist and/or Pack Production Worker located in Ann Arbor, MI. The Production Sewist will be responsible for production planning and execution, ensuring quality control, and managing various production tasks. The role involves collaborating with the production team, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and meeting production deadlines. Additional tasks include participating in training sessions and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Part-Time Pack Production Worker Qualifications
As our production assistant, you will help prepare and support production days.
- Set up the production space with the necessary equipment for each day.
- Prepare and set up raw materials for production.
- Learn and conduct the production process with an emphasis on safety and quality.
- Produce 5 packs per hour that pass quality control.
- Count inventory of pack film, labels, disks, and other components.
- Fill out production records documentation with attention to detail, logging environmental
- conditions and serial numbers produced on specific dates.
- Support Warmilu leadership and advise when production supplies require reordering and
- relay space production needs and production scheduling alignment.
- Organize files, documents, and receipts.
- Prepare film and other materials for production, pack welding, and pack filling.
- Put away all raw materials and equipment at the end of each production day.
- Clean shop and production equipment as needed.
- Pack and ship orders as needed.
- Conduct occasional testing for quality control.
- Other production duties and quality control duties as assigned.
Part-Time Production Sewist Qualifications
- Basic Sewing Skills and Willingness to Sew: Be comfortable operating sewing machines, especially straight stitch industrial sewing machines. Operate and maintain sewing machines and other equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret patterns and instructions.
- Production Planning and Production Management Skills: Cut, measure and prepare fabrics and materials for sewing. Assemble fabric, cut pieces, and other items according to specifications.
- Strong Communication Skills: Be proactive and have strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High and Excellent Attention to Detail: A sewist must have high (strong) attention to detail and strong organizational skills to production work, subassemblies, order of production operations, components included in the sewing process, fabric characteristics like directionality, and the ability to document work completed in a production log.
- Expertise in Quality Control: Ideal candidates will be able to review and adhere to quality control practices to maintain high standards for a medical device. Perform quality checks on work in progress and finished products.
- Experience in Training and mentoring other team members as well as getting trained to sew a new device.
- Patience and Good Time Management Skills
- Prior Experience: Previous experience as a sewist or in a similar production role is a plus. Experience working in a sewing or textiles-related field.
- Optional: Create patterns and perform alterations as needed. Knowledge of different fabrics and how to work with them.
Education and Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance

- Have the ability to stay on task and focus with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Emphasis on safety
- Ability to learn about how to use and gain working knowledge for production equipment
- Microsoft Office 365 and Google Drive proficiency
- Hours may vary week to week depending on order fulfillment needs. Shifts will fall sometime between 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM with some scheduling flexibility. We will work with you to build your shift schedule on a bi-weekly basis.

Compensation
Part-Time | Onsite | 600 S. Wagner Road Suite 821, Ann Arbor, MI 48103
$18.00 per hour | Minimum Production Target: 5 packs per hour that pass quality control.
2-8 Hour Shifts (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
