- Valid Ohio Administrative Specialist or Supervisory certificate/license appropriate to the administrative position.
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Administration or Special Education.
- Minimum of three years experience in special education/related service as a teacher or administrator.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience working with federal and state education law and implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process.
- Advanced knowledge of student identification and assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must possess exemplary leadership qualities and strong work ethic.
- Demonstrates an exceptional attendance record.
- OTES 2.0 credentialed, OPES preferred.
- Successful BCII and FBI background check.
Additional Desired Qualification:
- Experience and training in Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
- Advanced knowledge of characteristics of students with special needs.
- Experience in IAT/MTSS and child find activities.
- Demonstrates excellent problem solving abilities.
- Experience in program development.
- Demonstrated collaboration and consultation skills.
- Experience conducting in-services and professional development activities.
- Knowledge of local report card, value-added and other data sources related to achievement of students with disabilities (SWD).
Duties:
- Coordinate/assist in the identification of students with disabilities (SWD).
- Coordinate the delivery of service to students with disabilities (SWD) with building and district personnel.
- Gather and analyze data related to achievement of students with disabilities (SWD).
- Promote, develop and coordinate inclusive programs for students with disabilities.
- Serve as district representative at IEP and MFE meetings.
- Coordinate the delivery of services to resident students with disabilities attending other districts.
- Supervise and evaluate all personnel, direct service and related service personnel and assist in the determination of goals to improve performance.
- Conduct and facilitate instructional rounds for certificated staff members, providing feedback, as appropriate.
- Assist in child find activities.
- Conduct IEP and MFE meetings.
- Coordinate the IAT/MTSS process.
- Conduct in-services and professional development activities related to delivery of services to SWD.
- Assist in child count activities.
- Assist in the development of department goals.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, principals and district staff to improve outcomes for SWD.
- Consult and collaborate with local social service agencies as needed.
- Consultation and collaboration with parents.
- Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren City School District Board of Education.
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, Director of Special Education and/or his/her designee.
