POSITION: District Safety and Security Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: 200 days/ 8 hour days Classified FLSA Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in school safety, law enforcement, and emergency management.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations and school safety best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and administrators, first responders, and community partners.
• Valid driver's license and clear background/Rapback check.
• Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The District Safety and Security Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety and security programs across all district facilities. This position ensures that students, staff, and visitors have a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning and working. The Supervisor coordinates emergency preparedness initiatives, collaborates with law enforcement and community partners, conducts safety audits and drills, and provides leadership during crisis situations. In addition, this role monitors compliance with federal, state, local and district safety regulations, maintains accurate documentation, and promotes a proactive culture of safety awareness throughout the district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- • Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive safety and emergency plans across all district buildings, including OSHAA, Title IX, and Clery Act
• Coordinates safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance inspections.
• Plans and conducts safety drills and training for staff and students.
• Serves as primary liaison with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency management agencies.
• Manages and monitors security systems, including cameras, door access, and visitor protocols.
• Investigates safety concerns and incidents; recommends corrective actions.
• Provides leadership during crisis events and assists in post-incident evaluation and communication. Develops annual safety reports and ensures compliance with board policy and state mandates.
Salary: Starting at $51,790
