Job Description
The Entrepreneurship Postbaccalaureate Fellow at the Connolly Center for Entrepreneurship is a new or recent graduate who demonstrates entrepreneurial vision, leadership potential, and practical experience in launching or developing businesses. The Fellow will pitch an entrepreneurial business idea during the interview and advance it during the two-year position, enriching the university community by serving as an entrepreneurial role model and mentor. Additionally, the Fellow will manage essential administrative functions of the Connolly Center, including supervising student employees, overseeing event planning, facilitating alumni communications and engagement, managing marketing and communications strategies, and handling purchasing and budgeting for center operations. This is a two-year term position with an anticipated start date on August 1, 2025.

Essential Functions
- Pitch, develop, and actively pursue a compelling entrepreneurial project throughout the two-year fellowship term, providing regular progress updates and outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate student employees at the Connolly Center, ensuring productive workflow and professional growth.
- Mentor student patrons visiting the Connolly Center as well as members of the Connolly Entrepreneurship Society who are developing their own businesses.
- Plan, manage, and execute events on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, including workshops, networking events, speaker series, hackathons, and competitions.
- Develop and maintain effective alumni engagement, including outreach, communication strategies, and support for the alumni-in-residence program.
- Administer, maintain, and evaluate the performance of the Connolly Center's marketing and communication strategy, managing content calendars for social media, the center's website, and promotional materials.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Connolly Center and W&L Communications and Public Affairs to ensure consistent, strategic messaging and increased visibility.
- Manage purchasing and budgeting activities for the Connolly Center, tracking expenditures, and maintaining financial accountability.
- Regularly convene students and stakeholders to evaluate Connolly Center programming, preparing formal reports on strengths, weaknesses, and actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Explore and recommend innovative practices, emerging technologies, and trends in entrepreneurship education and business incubation to keep the Connolly Center at the forefront of entrepreneurial thought leadership.
- Provide general administrative support and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Connolly Center.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Commitment to a two-year position term.
- Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial initiatives, including launching or developing a business or venture. Experience gained through degree and/or course requirements qualifies for consideration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Experience in event planning, social media management, and content creation.
- Proficiency or adaptability to learn marketing platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support Connolly Center events and programming.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are recent graduates and W&L alumni.
