    Role Overview
    To provide effective and efficient supplemental support to all stakeholders who contact and visit the school. This position provides supplemental assistance to immigrant families and multilingual families at the school in meeting their goals and objectives.

    Minimum Requirements
    High School Diploma/GED.
    Highly Qualified status (AA Degree, 48 credit hours, or passed the Paraprofessional Praxis Exam.
    Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
    Cultural proficiency includes knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs that enable all stakeholders to feel welcomed and supported in a cross-cultural setting.
    Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in an office environment that involved frequent contact with various stakeholders and basic clerical skills.
    Proficient in various relevant software and electronic communication tools, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database applications.
    Ability to receive, respond to, and relay inquiries by telephone in a courteous manner and provide appropriate responses.
    Ability to work extended hours to support on-site meetings held after hours.
    Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Ability to multi-task in an organized office environment.
    Punctuality, regular and predictable attendance are essential functions of this position.
    Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Knowledge of TDD telephone device, language translation and interpretation services.
    Advanced training or certifications applicable to office experience or technology platforms.
    Working knowledge of Board of Education policies and procedures.

    Role Responsibilities
    Welcome and assist visitors to the school with a positive and helpful attitude
    Answer and route phone calls, emails, and other communication in a professional and friendly manner.
    Provide language interpretation and translation services to facilitate communication between non- English-speaking parents and program staff.
    Provide support and complete projects as assigned within the front office.
    Open and distribute incoming written communication and voicemails daily.
    Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of office business and assignments.
    Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental Requirements
    The Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental demands represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    Required periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.
    Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
    Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear in English and Spanish.
    Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
    Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.
