Role: English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
Summary:
Plan, teach, and implement daily ESL classes and an appropriate program of study for assigned students. Instruction will be based on formal and informal assessments, collaboration with classroom teachers, student progress monitoring, WIDA standards, and state curriculum objectives.

Education and/or Experience:
Valid teacher’s license with ESL endorsement;
Fluent and competent in the four domains of English language development, (reading, writing, listening, and speaking)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and facilitate daily lessons and instructional activities in a positive learning environment;
Effectively and appropriately differentiate instruction, materials, and resources to meet all students’ language development proficiency levels;
Make academic content accessible, and support curriculum expectations;
Communicate with and support teachers, staff, and other district personnel to evaluate student academic progress, determine student language acquisition progress, and collaboratively develop, maintain, and implement student ILP objectives;
Participate in school data team meetings and IEP meetings impacting ELs;
Continually monitor and record evidence of student growth and progress;
Support classroom teachers to model differentiated instruction, best practice ESL strategies, and modifications to improve student achievement and academic success;
Attend meetings and professional development opportunities for professional growth and acquisition of job related information;
Travel to different schools to teach ESL students, support ESL students and school personnel, and implement an effective ESL program;
Represents the district and the ESL program in a positive manner;
Reports to the Federal Programs Supervisor;
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
