Responsibilities:
- Act as a supervisor on duty for events. This includes planning, assigning, directing work, and addressing complaints.
- Assists with managing the setup of events.
- Reviewing Banquet Event Orders, making copies, posting for staff.
- Ensure familiarity with Banquet Room set for each function.
- Coordinate with the Manager for any staffing issues, timing, beverage requirements, special instructions, or last-minute changes.
- Review non-food requirements such as awards tables, Registration Tables, audiovisual needs, etc. for each function.
- Coordinate with banquet chef on event counts, menu items, special requests and timing of meal completion.
- Ensure that function rooms are set to specifications outlined on the banquet event order.
- Ensure that the room is clean and free of obstacles. Record and report any repairs that may be required.
- Prepares a sample place setting for staff and assigns responsibilities.
- Provide leadership direction and ensure that props are available and in good repair.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as an event captain, event server or similar. Degree in hospitality or related field is a plus.
- Ability to manage many staff members.
- Great time management and multitasking abilities.
- Developed English skills both written and orally.
