What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Manager position at Washington Golf and Country Club?
I. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for management of pool in a manner that is most pleasing to members and their guests while ensuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality, service and cleanliness of pool
II. ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Supervise and run the pool with the highest level of customer service
· Hire, train, supervise, schedule and evaluate pool staff
· Schedule personnel based upon anticipated member and guest pool usage
· Inspect pool employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times
· Provide appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates and job changes to Accounting
· Manage within budgetary constraints
· Manage operation of pool, cleanliness of deck and bathroom, and stocking of towels
· Serve as a liaison between the pool patrons and the Club and work to resolve any issues as they arise
· Ensure that all revenues are processed through the Club’s accounting system
· Ensure that all local and state laws and the Club’s policies and procedures for the operation and pool are consistently followed
· Coordinate set-up and take-down of swim and dive meets, including judges’/workers’ table, swim/dive team areas
· Ensure operation of PA system
· Ensure that the pool is opened and closed daily at the posted times
· Communicate essential pool information through emails and postings, including expected (special events) and unexpected (weather/accidents) closings
· Help develop and run a swim lesson program for regular members (non-swim team members) of the Club
· Aid Aquatics Director in running a masters’ program for adults
· Other duties as assigned
III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or GED
· Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
· Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certifications
· Or any similar combination of education and experience
· Effective leader
· Ability to manage team of high school and college students and handle sporadic stressful situations in a cool manner
· Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents
· Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
· Highly proficient on Jonas software or in process of obtaining within six months
· Ability to maintain quality and safety standards and coordinate quality assurance programs in areas of responsibility
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
· Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
· Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
IV. Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, bend, stoop, twist, climb, clean and lift up to 20 pounds
· Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions (sometimes hot and wet environment) and exposure to dust, fumes or gases
· Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
· Independent mobility
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
