Salary Range: $23.00 to $23.00 per hour
FLSA – Temporary and Limited Term Employment, Hourly
The WSBA's mission is to serve the public and the members of the Bar, to ensure the integrity of the legal profession, and to champion justice.
Purpose and Position Summary:
This position will assist with an organizational scanning project and other clerical duties as assigned. The length of temporary assignments will vary and will not exceed 6 continuous month (180 consecutive days).
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a department delegate, sort and handle departmental files (which may include confidential and sensitive information) in accordance with WSBA and WA State Records Retention rules:
- Sort through boxes of WSBA files and organizing them as directed, moving boxes as needed
- Prepare and scan large volumes of various documents for electronic retention purposes, ensuring scanned documents are legible and organized
- Verify and upload scanned documents in various formats for retention on the WSBA network and local drives
- Properly dispose of scanned materials and documents that no longer require retention

Education Required:
- High School (or equivalent GED)
Education Preferred:
- Post High School education or certification program (if applicable)
Experience Required:
- Document management
- Imaging programs and systems (scanners)
Competencies (Skills/Abilities) Required:
- Strong organizational skills, Ability to gather information and organize it in an orderly fashion, Ability to carry out assignments requiring organization of materials
- Confidentiality, tact, judgment and discretion
- Ability to work under time constraints, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of work
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of modern office equipment (I.e., scanners/copiers/printers, computers)
- Knowledge of filing systems, Word processing and file storage software
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Efficiency with executing repetitive work
- Attention to detail
- Accuracy in executing repetitive tasks
Competencies (Skills/Abilities Preferred):
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing file retention and record keeping will be a plus*
Working Conditions:
This position is required to work Full-time (Temporary) and onsite at the WSBA Office, in Seattle, WA, with standard office equipment available.
The essential functions of the job that must be performed, with or without a reasonable accommodation: This position must be able to regularly work five days per week in an office environment, possess the ability to primarily sit/stand and use a computer, scanner/copier, and other standard office equipment. Must have the ability to push/pull/lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds, reach documents on high and low shelves, and bend/twist to manage documents and equipment. This position must be able to read, write, and speak with others in English.
