The Human Resource Division (HRD) provides human resource services to supervisors, managers, and employees.
Duties
This position supports the agency’s mission by serving as first-level professional human resource consultants in the areas of compensation, training and organizational development functions. This position serves as a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and compensation expert providing consultation to agency staff, supervisors and management, complying with CBAs, WACs, RCWs, federal, state, agency and various applicable policies. The position works under general supervision with guidance from higher level human resource professionals, providing consultation, carrying out assignments, processing actions, preparing communications and following procedures with customer service focus.
Our new teammate will be able to:
- Provide consultation answering questions & providing options to set salaries upon promotion, transfer, acting pay etc.
- Prepare Employee Action (EAR) forms and required formal correspondence and related materials as appropriate for complex personnel related actions such as, but not limited to: promotions, completion of in-training level/series, transfers, new hires and re-hires, pre-academy cadets, volunteer, intern, chaplains, etc.
- Compose employee notifications using set agency parameters ensuring all information pertaining to employee action is accurately accounted for and communicated in a clear professional manner, according to CBAs, WACs, RCWs, federal, state, agency and various applicable policies.
- Develop and assist with implementation and presentation of NEO ensuring quality onboarding, agency acclimation and new employee requirements are met.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduation or equivalent

One (1) year of broad-based professional human resource experience in the areas of classification, compensation, recruitment and selection, training, organizational development and/or labor relations.
- Related education can supplement experience year for year.
