Position Summary

Position is responsible for the production of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and research purposes and performs quality-control analyses; this includes human/animal radio-metabolite studies.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and research use.
  • Performs analytical analyses of final radiopharmaceutical preparations for clinical or research purposes.
  • Performs analysis of radio-metabolites for C-11 tracer studies in humans and animals.
  • Helps maintain instruments used for clinical/research radiopharmaceutical production and quality control; trouble shoots as required.
  • Helps prepare sterile reagents used in the production of radiopharmaceuticals; follows all appropriate SOPs for pharmaceutical preparations 100% of the time.
  • Orders necessary supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner; checks loading dock for incoming packages and appropriately receives incoming orders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer IBM/MAC OS.
  • Experience working with radioactive compounds.
  • Analytical chemistry experience.

Required Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree, including good synthetic chemistry background.

Salary Range

$21.25 - $31.91 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
