Aqua Aerobics Instructor

Job Summary: Waterloo Community Pool is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Aqua Aerobics Instructor to lead group water fitness classes. The ideal candidate will have experience in aquatic exercise and a passion for helping members achieve their fitness goals in a fun, low-impact environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver fun and safe aqua aerobics classes that cater to varying fitness levels.
• Build meaningful connections with participants, welcoming conversations before and after classes to address questions and concerns that embodies a welcoming and supportive community. Actively engage with members to enhance their overall experience and encourage participation in other facility programming.
• Warm up participants and instruct them in a variety of water exercises focusing on cardiovascular endurance, strength training, and flexibility.
• Monitor participants' progress and provide guidance and support.
• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, adhering to all safety protocols and facility guidelines.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pool area.
• Provide excellent customer service and encourage community engagement.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in aqua fitness and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Experience teaching aqua aerobics or other group fitness classes.
• Certification in group fitness or aqua aerobics instruction (preferred but not required)
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (preferred)
• Previous experience as a fitness instructor or in a related role (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to engage, motivate and inspire a diverse group of participants.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.75 per hour

• Evening shift

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Group fitness: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• AED Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:
