Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team. This position is remote but may require some in-field surveys depending on the season. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine land boundaries, topography, and other features. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, proficiency in data collection techniques, and the ability to utilize advanced surveying tools such as GPS and 3D scanners. You'll be expected to collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure accurate measurements and compliance with regulations.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using a variety of methods including GPS, total stations, and 3D scanners.
- Collect and analyze data related to land features, boundaries, and elevations.
- Prepare detailed survey drawings and reports using software such as Civil 3D, Revit, or Carlson.
- Collaborate with civil engineers to provide necessary data for project planning and development.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land use and surveying practices.
- Perform mathematical calculations related to surveying tasks including algebraic computations.
- Maintain accurate records of surveys conducted and data collected.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in land surveying or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in surveying software such as Civil 3D, Revit, or Carlson.
- Strong mathematical skills with an emphasis on algebra and data analysis.
- Familiarity with GPS technology and data collection methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
