Who are we?

Waterman's Community Center is a non-profit organization on an island off the coast of Maine. Waterman's services a community of 350 year-round residents and a large summer community.

An important aspect of Waterman's Community Center's programming are its creative and fun summer camps for children on North Haven. There are three age levels and each engages children around the special aspects of an island summer in a unique, age-appropriate way. Camp staff need to be imaginative, responsible, and resourceful.

Positions Available in Waterman's 2023 Camps

  • Summer Urchins (1-3 yrs. old) - Summer Camp Leader
  • School of Fish (3-5 yrs. old) - Summer Camp Leader
  • Arts & Adventure (6-9yrs. old) - Summer Camp Leader
  • Aftercare Leaders

The summer on North Haven is fast-paced and full of fun. As a camp leader, we are looking for someone that is creative and full of energy. The camps will be planned week-by-week before arrival of the camp leaders. The leaders are to facilitate the activities and be present with the kids.

Summer camp on an island looks many different ways. For us, the kids love to spend time by the water, in the woods, or on the playground. Sometimes, it is as simple as taking the kids to the beach to find sea glass and shells.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM-12:15PM , AfterCare is Monday-Thursday 12PM-4PM

Housing is available!

Pay: $16hr.-$20hr.

Seasonal job, beginning June 17th-End of August: 10-week commitment strongly encouraged.
