Overview : As a Long-Term Care Laundry Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff in a long-term care facility.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper laundering of linens, clothing, and other items, contributing to the overall well-being and comfort of residents.
Key Responsibilities :
Laundry Operations :
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, clothing, and other laundry items according to established procedures and guidelines.
Quality Control :
- Inspect linens and clothing for stains, damage, or wear, and follow appropriate procedures for repair or replacement.
- Ensure that all laundry meets quality standards and infection control guidelines.
Inventory Management :
- Maintain an organized inventory of clean linens and clothing.
- Monitor and report shortages or excesses of linen supplies and assist in ordering replacements as needed.
Safety and Infection Control :
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures in handling, washing, and distributing laundry.
- Follow established procedures for handling soiled linens to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
Adherence to Policies and Regulations :
- Follow facility policies and procedures related to laundry operations.
- Stay informed about and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
