Recreation Facility Attendant-Aquatics Pool PT
Status of Employment:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Description:
Monitor and assist with the operation of the facility, programs and/or events. Implement procedures/practices related to the operation of the facility. Often responsible for opening and closing of facility.
Duties:
- Demonstrate good customer service in communicating with rental groups and patrons.
- Answer customer inquires or direct to appropriate staff as necessary.
- Enforce facility use rules and guidelines and park district policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines.
- May assist with planning and implementation of programs and special events.
- Maintain proper inventory of all supplies and materials.
- Review facility schedule daily and set up and take down as needed, clean and maintain work area, appropriate equipment, and supplies for activities.
- Cleanup of bodily fluids after any accident as needed.
- Be receptive to the directives of event leaders or renters.
- Conduct walk through inspections to ensure site safety and document deficiencies as required.
- May assist in the preparation and maintenance of reports and records regarding participants, programs, and services.
- Responsible for the operation and upkeep specific to the Fitness Center and/or Aquatics Center at the Field House. Duties include, but are not limited to: folding, stocking, washing and drying laundry. General upkeep of the Fitness Center and/or Aquatics Center. Cleaning of machines, equipment or facility. Hourly counts, tours and monitoring access to the Fitness Center and/or Aquatics Center.
- Wear assigned uniforms at all times while on duty.
- Contact emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct self in accordance with the policies and procedures as established by the park district.
- Wear assigned uniforms while on duty.
- Participate in park district safety and training Program to ensure that the work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner.
Marginal Functions:
- Assist staff in completion of work orders.
- Maintain reports relating to daily admission and usage.
- May assist with other recreation programs and special events as needed.
- May assist staff and volunteers with the performance of their duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Junior in high school required. High school graduation preferred.
Experience:
- Part-time or seasonal work with a recreation agency preferred. Participation in athletic leagues or fitness center desirable.
Knowledge:
- General knowledge of recreation principles and philosophy.
- General knowledge of customer service, fitness and sports.
- Equipment set-up and use for athletic programs or fitness activities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
License/Certification:
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within one (1) year.
Hours:
Days and hours will vary, includes nights and weekends. 10 to 20 hours per week.
