Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent HR service for the associates at their site locations (both manufacturing and office), ensuring smooth HR support in areas such as payroll/timekeeping, benefit administration, and HR policy questions. This role acts as a primary point of contact for employees seeking assistance with HR-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues. The HR Coordinator collaborates closely with the HR team and other departments to maintain compliance with company policies and employment laws, while also promoting a positive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration:
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and answers any benefits-related questions.
- Works closely with the Apogee Benefits COE Team.
- HRIS System:
- Complete bi-weekly Payroll Data input, while working with the Apogee Payroll COE team to process.
- Trains new associates and supervisors in how to use the HRIS system.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Serve as Peak Performer SuperAdmin (recognition platform) and prepare end of month reporting.
- Manage the ID Badge System.
- Employee Relations:
- Acts as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns.
- Assist in resolution of employee issues and conflicts, maintaining a positive working environment.
- Compliance and Record Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legislative changes.
- Assist with preparation of HR reports and metrics.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, answering phones, and managing correspondence.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Coordinate employee events and activities.
- Update communication monitors.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Prior Human Resources experience/education may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
- Experience:
- Experience in an HR role preferred, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications:
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are highly desirable.
- Knowledge:
- Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employment regulations.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Work Conditions
- Environment:
- Work is typically performed in an office setting within the manufacturing facility. Regular visits to the production floor anticipated.
- Physical Demands:
- Minimal physical effort is required. The role may involve sitting for extended periods, using a computer, and participating in meetings.
- Travel
- Some travel may be required to different company locations or for training purposes.
