The Wayne County Schools Career Center is accepting applications for the position of:
INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
STARTING DATE:Upon hire
SALARY:Appropriate step on the certified salary schedule
REPORTS TO: Matt Brown, Principal
WORK WEEK/YEAR: As per board-adopted calendar
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Certified/Licensed Intervention Specialist
• Experience with Federal/Ohio Special Education Law and Ohio Academic Content Standards is required. Preference will be given to
those with student transition experience.
• Any additional qualifications required by the Wayne County Schools Career Center Board of Education.
• BCI and FBI criminal records results less than one-year old must be submitted prior to initial employment and as required thereafter.
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Responsible for understanding all special education mandates for the Wayne County Schools Career Center. This responsibility involves preparation and planning, both long range and immediate; understanding and applying effective professional teaching methods; and developing and maintaining effective pupil, parent and community relationships.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: APPLY TO:
• Prior special education teaching experience in language arts and/or math.
• Proven ability to modify and provide accommodations.
• Prior experience working with high school age students.
