As a Videographer at Wayne Media Group, you are the lead operator for all aspects of pre-production and production. This includes commercial video shoots, podcasts, reels, social media content, and photography. You are responsible for ensuring the technical and creative quality of the footage captured on set and for delivering clean, organized assets for post-production. This is a client-facing role. You’ll represent the Media Department during on-site productions and client interactions, to ensure each shoot aligns with business goals. You will also support editors by providing detailed production notes and occasionally stepping into light editing duties when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Production Planning
- Collaborate with Creative Strategists and clients to define vision, scope, and shoot logistics.
- Develop shot lists, equipment checklists, and talent/client prep documents.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align shoot goals with broader campaign strategies.

Filming & On-Set Direction
- Lead all on-site and off-site video and photography production.
- Operate cameras, drones, lighting, microphones, and all other production gear with precision and confidence.
- Capture high-quality A-roll and B-roll footage, adapting to diverse shoot environments.
- Direct talent and clients professionally during filming.
- Record detailed time-stamped shot logs and production notes for the editing team.

Photography & Editing
- Capture professional photos including commercial, product, portrait, and event photography.
- Edit photography files for use in print, web, and social platforms.
- Provide clean, edited selects with consistent color and quality.

Client Strategy
- Translate client goals and feedback into video content that serves their marketing and brand strategy.
- Ensure video content aligns with the broader direction of client campaigns and business objectives.
- Offer creative ideas and improvements throughout the production process, not just during edits.
- Act as the primary point of contact on assigned video projects from start to final delivery.

Post-Production Collaboration
- Deliver all footage to editors with complete shot logs, context, and client-specific direction.
- Ensure editors are supported with any questions or reshoots if required.
- Step in to assist with video editing during periods of high bandwidth.

Cross-Department Collaboration
- Coordinate with the Creative and Web teams to ensure video integrates cleanly into campaigns, websites, and content plans.
- Communicate clearly with team leads to keep timelines aligned.

Equipment Management
- Maintain, clean, and organize all gear, including cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and accessories.
- Support regular inventory checks and prepare gear before shoots.
- Learn and support basic drone operations (FAA Part 107 Certification preferred or trainable).

Innovation & Trend Awareness:
- Stay updated on video production trends, storytelling methods, and new technologies to continuously improve Wayne Media’s video capabilities.
- Bring fresh, creative ideas to projects to keep Wayne Media’s video work competitive and forward-thinking.

- Perform any and all duties assigned by executive leadership.
Skills
- Proficient in professional camera systems, microphones, lighting setups, and drone operation (FAA Part 107 Certification preferred or trainable).
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, color, and storytelling principles.
- Capable of managing entire shoot environments independently or with small crews.
- Skilled in photography and photo editing (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro for video editing.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, especially in client-facing situations.
- Organized and disciplined with gear, file management, and production documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agency or commercial production experience.
- Experience in podcast recording environments and live video production.
- Comfortable with multi-cam setups and hybrid AV environments.
- Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
