PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for establishing, implementing, developing, and controlling Best Practices for I.T. project management throughout organization. Additionally, will also be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing all aspects of project management including research, design, planning, development, implementation and maintenance, and includes acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Review new project requests, validate scope, coordinate development of work effort estimates, and estimated cost to complete requests Develop high-level plan to determine estimated timing of new projects. Validate high-level resource requirements to resource availability, and recommend sourcing options Develop and maintain the project plans Effectively manage project teams’ time and allocate resources to ensure deliverables are completed. Negotiate with managers for acquisition of required personnel from within the company Ensure project team members, vendors, and stakeholders are following Project Management standards and utilize standard templates Establish project progress meetings with the project team members and relevant stakeholders Ensure project documentation is completed including sign-off on key deliverables Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes. Publish a weekly status report to all stakeholders Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to success of project. Escalate issues and status changes as appropriate. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Define project success criteria and disseminate to involved parties throughout project lifecycle. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team leads, members and contractors, and positively influence action and accountability for assigned work. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between project team members. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a Leader of People position with required competencies: Delegation, Conflict Management, Planning, Sizing Up People and Customer Focus. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelors’ degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 5 years’ experience in I.T. project management, including all aspects of process development and execution. Minimum 7 years’ experience in software development and supervision. Demonstrated strong project management skills. Strong knowledge of project management software (i.e., MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Project Server or Project Online). Technically competent with ERP software programs. Strong knowledge and demonstrated skills in developing and deploying project Best Practices, policies, procedures and processes. Demonstrated conflict management skills: open and effective discussions, clarification of situations, impartial judgement, resolution focused, development of others' ideas, action oriented with clear, concise summaries. Extensive experience effectively leading and working in team-oriented, collaborative environments. Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to fluently communicate effectively both up and down the chain of command and with external customers when needed in a timely and professional manner Flexible to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Possesses a leadership style that is persuasive, encouraging and motivating. Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to react appropriately to project adjustments promptly and efficiently. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources (i.e., upper management, clients, other departments, vendors, etc.). Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity. Exceptional customer service orientation. Ability to present and communicate ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
