Wayside Schools is an open-enrollment, tuition-free Pre-K3-12th grade public charter school network that provides over 2,200 scholars across its four South Austin campuses with a rigorous International Baccalaureate education. - Able to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.

- Knowledgeable about meal pattern requirements; understands federal, state, and local program regulations.
- Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation procedures for food service.
- Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).

Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.

Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.

Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria by wiping tables, serving lines, water fountain, hand wash station, milk cooler, etc., using appropriate cleaning products; sweeps and mops as needed.

Assists with class dismissal in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.

Encourage good table manners.

Participates in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.

Performs other Child Nutrition Program duties as assigned, including training as back-up cashier. Travel to other school sites will be necessary as needed.

- Services are generally provided within a cafeteria and office environment.

Movement throughout the cafeteria is necessary, assisting students with meal items.

Regular attendance is required for this position.
