The Purchasing intern will participate in the request for quote process per Saint-Gobain policies, utilizing procurement eTools and collaborating with the Category Managers, Purchasing Agents and stakeholders across functions in the business. The intern will also research the market to support the development of the right sourcing strategy based on the organization need and the market indicators. The analyst will summarize bids and present bid summaries in meaningful formats to present total cost which will help the decision process. The Purchasing intern will support data validation activities, with a focus on raw material purchasing information records: suppliers, incoterms, country-of-origin, tariffs, etc.

- Essential Functions
- Support sourcing initiatives and market research for assigned raw material categories
- Research potential new suppliers for Saint-Gobain
- Develop and process requests for proposal using Saint-Gobain eTools
- Analyze and present bid results to support decisions; synthesize data to coincide with requirements/needs of the stakeholders
- Coordinate with suppliers in support of sustainability initiatives, e.g. suppliers' CO2 emissions factors and sustainability questionnaires.
- Support data validation activities
- Support reporting tool development, e.g. Power BI
- Applicant must be pursuing a college degree in business, procurement, or related field.
- Basic understanding Purchasing/Procurement function
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
