Asbestos Attorney

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking an Asbestos Defense Attorney to join its Chicago office. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney with 2–5 years of litigation experience who wants hands-on responsibility, real courtroom exposure, and access to one of the deepest asbestos defense platforms in the country.

The practice represents major corporations and institutional clients in complex asbestos and toxic tort matters across multiple jurisdictions.

The Role

• Defend asbestos and toxic tort litigation from inception through resolution
• Manage cases independently with appropriate partner support
• Handle motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
• Work closely with experienced trial lawyers on high-stakes matters
• Engage with expert witnesses and sophisticated defense strategies
• Balance a demanding caseload while maintaining high advocacy standards

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• 2–5 years of litigation experience
• Prior asbestos defense or toxic tort experience, or a strong interest in the space
• Active Illinois bar license
• Strong courtroom presence and confidence presenting arguments
• Ability to manage matters independently without heavy oversight
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• High level of professionalism and commitment to client service

Nice to Have

• Multi-jurisdictional litigation exposure (West Coast and/or NY/NJ experience a plus)
• Experience handling high-volume caseloads
• Resilience, adaptability, and comfort in a fast-moving litigation environment

Compensation & Benefits

• $110,000 – $160,000 base salary, depending on experience
