WEC Business Services, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Server and Storage Administrator (IT Infrastructure Consultant). This position can be based out of our Pewaukee or Green Bay, Wisconsin locations. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.
This is a job family (Associate IT Infrastructure Consultant/ IT Infrastructure Consultant/Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) position where the experience of the selected candidate will determine the level offered.
The IT Infrastructure Consultant - Server and Storage Administration will be responsible for developing and supporting the company's enterprise servers, virtualization environment, and storage environment.
- Supporting and managing our enterprise storage environments such as our Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure, File Systems, Backup & Recovery systems, and VMware virtualization.
- Responsible for project work, new release installs, product upgrades, development and maintenance of server and storage standards and procedures.
- Day to day support of the server and storage environment including a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Provide server and storage assistance to application support teams' initiatives including server, storage and recovery design, server build and maintenance, connectivity and performance troubleshooting support. Primary server operating systems include Windows, Solaris/Unix, Linux.
- Bachelor's degree
- Relevant IT experience
- Must have strong problem solving, communication and decision making skills and customer focus.
- Must have ability to effectively communicate in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Two years of server and storage administration work experience with focus on advanced MS Windows Server security and administration and enterprise storage environments.
- Experience with supporting large environments (3,000 servers) across multiple data centers.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery concepts, operating system performance, operating system upgrades and build management in an Active Directory environment, VMware, Windows cluster, Security and User Account control, Powershell scripting, and BigFix.
- Experience with EMC enterprise solutions (PowerMax, Isilon, XtremeIO, Avamar, DataDomain, etc.)
