For Wedgewood’s Technology teams, the product owner role is critical for defining requirements, refining stories, managing the product backlog, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical delivery. The ideal candidate works with the assigned technology team and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet customer and business needs. This is a hands-on execution role that ensures the team delivers on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

What you’ll do:

Core Responsibilities
o As a product lead team member, work effectively with all product team members to ensure solutions and services capture and address all requirements across all teams.
o Partner with the Director of Product Management on large, complex initiatives to drive feature refinement and deliver assigned work. Maintaining effective synchronous and asynchronous communication is a must.
o Leverage product management, business analysis, and project management skills, processes, and techniques
o Capture, prioritize, and integrate feedback from customers, clients, and partners to shape product solutions and services that deliver measurable value.
o Translate business objectives and stakeholder input into well-structured epics, detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications that guide development.
o Maintain a healthy, actionable backlog by ensuring items are clearly defined, estimated, prioritized, and ready for development.
o Plan and prioritize features effectively across sprints to maximize customer value and team velocity.
o Serve as the go-to product expert for the team, responding to questions by continuously
deepening product knowledge and leveraging commercial and operational SMEs when needed.
o Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, ensure successful feature delivery, and iterate based on feedback and performance insights.
o Monitor product performance and address production issues promptly, ensuring stability and customer satisfaction.
o Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, fostering alignment and transparency.
o Communicate progress, risks, and upcoming priorities through clear, timely updates to both the team and stakeholders.
o Effectively prioritize competing demands and deliver commitments.
o Identify and remove impediments to accelerate delivery and maximize customer value.
o Create sprint plans and lead sprint reviews, ensuring clarity of goals and visibility of outcomes.

What you’ve done:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in consumer software development
  • 1 years of product owner experience, experience within the animal health industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scrum practices, with the ability to coach others
  • Experience with SDLC tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
