Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in delivering high-quality education and care to young children of all abilities. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes early childhood development, literacy, and math skills. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with students, helping them grow academically and socially while ensuring their safety and well-being. WeeConnect is an inclusive childcare center located in York. We operate on a shorten childcare day with operating hours of 8:30am-3:00pm. T
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that align with curriculum goals.
- Support the social emotional needs of children.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques.
- Engage with students in various activities, promoting social interaction and teamwork.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Skills
- Strong foundation in early childhood education principles and childhood development.
- Experience working with children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Experience providing toddler care or working in daycare settings is desirable.

Duties include but are not limited to:· Maintain the health and safety of each child· Review and implement developmentally appropriate material with students, either individually or in small groups, to help reinforce lessons presented by lead teachers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
